Browning Auto-5

John Browning called this design his finest achievement, but at the time, he could not sell it to either Winchester or Remington on his own terms, and in 1902, a contract was signed with the Belgian company Fabrique Nationale de Herstal (FN). Browning later licensed the design to Remington, which produced it as its Model 11 (1905 – 1947).
