Purdey
SCALE 1:2
James Purdey, Jr. was determined to create a shotgun that could not be beaten. In 1879, Frederick Beesley, a former Purdey stocker, invented a self-cocking system that utilized the residual energy of the mainspring to open the gun. This system was developed and patented the following year. By the end of the XIXth century, all the crowned dignitaries of Europe had become clients of James Purdey & Sons. This shotgun is widely recognized as one of the world’s finest for trap shooting.
