Mauser Bolo

The Mauser Bolo, a compact variant of the iconic C96, was developed in the early 1920s. It featured a shorter 3.9-inch barrel and smaller grips, designed for easier handling. Popular with Russian forces after the Bolshevik Revolution, the Bolo became a favored sidearm during the Russian Civil War, known for its reliability and portability. It was widely used by Bolshevik commanders and Soviet troops alike. Due to its association with revolutionary movements, the pistol became synonymous with the Bolsheviks, earning the name “Bolo.” Some were also exported to China, where it continued to be used in conflicts throughout the 20th century.
