Heckler & Koch
MP5, SCALE 1:2
In 1965, engineers of Heckler & Koch GmbH (HK) developed a prototype of a new weapon system called the HK54 submachine gun. Utilizing recoil energy, the automatics were based on roller-delayed blowback, which was a revolutionary mechanism at the time. In September 1966, the weapon was adopted by the West German police and border guards under the name of HK MP5. To date, there exist a few modifications of this weapon: HK MP5 A2, HK MP5 SD, HK MP5 K, HK MP5 K PDW, and others.
