Shpagin Submachine Gun (PPSH) was the most widely used submachine gun during the World War II. A total of more than 5 million pieces were manufactured.
Magazines of different capacity were used: drum magazines (71 cartridge drum) or stick magazines ( 35 pistol cartridge (7.62×25) stick).
It was introduced into service on December 26, 1940 and entered mass production between August and September 1941. It was first fielded to the combat
in December 1941, when the Red Army planned its Moscow Counteroffensive.
